Every year, CPA Practice Advisor reviews various providers of accountant website “self-serve” website building tools. Since we believe our CountingWorks PRO software and services are industry-leading, we decided to participate in the annual review by offering CPA Practice Advisor a demonstration of our system.
After our demonstration and giving them access to a trial account, the writer from CPA Practice Advisor seemed very impressed with our array of features that we pack into our website and marketing software tools, all for a very affordable cost for any small firm. In fact, we got quite a few “wow” responses and there seemed to be acknowledgment that we have one of the best value-to-cost metrics of any accounting website provider out there.
In the review, the writer for CPA Practice Advisor commented that CountingWorks PRO is, “…a good fit for small to mid-sized accounting firms, though firms of any size can benefit from the many resources offered.” She went on to say that CountingWorks PRO is, “Well-suited for accounting firms of any size that are interested in growing their marketing efforts.”
We also had a discussion with the writer from CPA Practice Advisor about how an accounting firm’s website is only one part of a successful digital strategy. While it is an important component, in the modern era, building a website completely yourself probably does not make a lot of sense for small firm accounting and tax professionals. Building a firm website is usually a time-intensive and skill-based endeavor, even with an automated and easy to use self-serving platform like CountingWorks PRO.
Often, it is the small details and fine-tuning of the colors, photos, copy, blogs, plug-ins, back end technology, and search engine optimization (SEO) characteristics that make all the difference in an accounting firm website. These finishing touches and technical aspects require a digital marketing expert like someone on our team are critical to the long-term success of a small firm.
So while our CountingWorks PRO tool is a fantastic choice if you want to “do-it-yourself” and build your own website, we actually do not recommend it. For less overall cost and a better website, we recommend that you let us help you. We still want lots of input on your tastes, your practice, and services, the types of clients you want to attract, any content or photos you want to send, etc. These are very important to help make your site unique to you.
The writer from CPA Practice Advisor seemed to agree with us that the website is just one component and a broader marketing solution was needed for accounting and tax firms. Along these lines, in the review of CountingWorks PRO, they provided a nice summary of some of the many other areas our solution provides to firms:
“CountingWorks PRO offers extensive marketing and SEO capabilities along with their custom website design, optimizing each website, while working to place the website on countless accounting and tax-related websites. In addition to the blogging services mentioned earlier, CountingWorks PRO offers an email newsletter, client alerts, eGreeting cards, and other marketing tools that are set up by CountingWorks PRO, using the firm’s client list. A website built using CountingWorks PRO also links directly to TaxBuzz.com and CountingWorks.com, which are marketplaces connecting accountants to prospective clients. Profiles on these marketplaces are free, but premium memberships are included with some plans or available a la carte. The application also provides a full lead management application, which allows you to track and nurture leads from our website and other sources. Social media management is included in CountingWorks PRO, providing timely, informative articles, inspirational quote, videos, and other content to social media followers on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google, with posting done two to three times per week. An advanced social media option is available on the Whitney plan that offers custom social media posts.”
We believe that since a website is now a “must-have” for all small accounting and tax practices and since it is part of an overall marketing plan, you are better off choosing a solution that provides all the key aspects of what your firm will need, beyond the website.
With our CountingWorks PRO packages, not only do you get an amazing firm website, with great content, automated blog, and industry-leading SEO-characteristics, you also get a LOT more:
In addition to having a great website, it’s really important to have a complete plan and system in place to grow your practice, target niche clients, build your reputation and build a successful and thriving “five-star practice.”
Thanks again to the whole team at CPA Practice Advisor. But most of all, thank you to our amazing clients who are the reason we do what we do. We work hard to make sure our software and services help to establish and grow lots of five-star accounting and tax practices around the country!
